The Telehealth Cart includes a vital signs monitor (VSM) to collect data on temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation (SpO2). A patient must be identified for the case before using the vital signs monitor.
A unique feature of the vital signs monitor is that it can be used simultaneously with other devices on the cart. Once an initial reading has been saved, any new readings will continue to be collected and saved until the case is exited.
To add vital signs details:
Step 1: From the Add to Case screen, click on the Vital Signs button. The VSM screen opens.
From the VSM screen, use the vital signs monitor to gather all vital signs details you need. Basic steps for each function of the vital signs monitor are addressed in this documentation. Only one vital signs report is generated for a case, but a report can have multiple lines. For more in-depth instructions for using the vital signs monitor, see the manufacturer’s user manual for the vital signs monitor.
Step 2: Gather vital signs using the vital signs monitor (see step-by-step instructions for each type of data in the following sections).
To discard some data, click on the Delete button next to the appropriate vital signs line.
Step 3: When all vital signs data has been gathered, click on the Save button. The vital signs details are added to the case and user is returned to the Case screen.
