Step 1: Place the appropriate sized blood pressure cuff on the patient’s upper arm, leaving enough room to fit at least two fingers under the cuff.
Step 2: Push the Start/Stop button on the monitor. The cuff will begin to inflate. If the default pressure fails to obtain a reading, it will deflate and re-inflate. The pressure cuff will gradually deflate, and systolic and diastolic readings will be displayed. A line is added to the vital signs list with the details.
Step 3: Remove the pressure cuff from the patient.
