Blood Pressure

Step 1:       Place the appropriate sized blood pressure cuff on the patient’s upper arm, leaving enough room to fit at least two fingers under the cuff.

Step 2:       Push the Start/Stop button on the monitor.  The cuff will begin to inflate.  If the default pressure fails to obtain a reading, it will deflate and re-inflate.  The pressure cuff will gradually deflate, and systolic and diastolic readings will be displayed.  A line is added to the vital signs list with the details.

Step 3:       Remove the pressure cuff from the patient.
