A protective sheath should always be used with the dental camera, as the lens and LED array are not sealed and it is impossible to adequately clean if it has been contaminated with body fluids.
Step 1: Place the camera handpiece fully in the sheath with the camera facing the opaque side and the blue tab side on the opposite side.
Step 2: Remove the top blue tab layer and the bottom opaque layer.
Step 3: Using the removed opaque layer, press the clear plastic against the camera for about 3 seconds, making sure not to place fingers on the camera that may blur the image. If the image on the screen shows patches of light, this indicates that the plastic is not fully pressed against the camera.
